Pregnant. Home Pregnancy Test Positive. History Of Miscarriages. Prevention?
hi i just found out im pregnant today by a home pregnancy test . im really worried as i have had 2 miscarriages in the past, one at 9 weeks and one at 5-6 weeks. could i have a medical problem? how do i go about it? and can i prevent this from happening again? my gp wont do futhur tests unless ive had 3 m/c and i couldnt handle going through it again.
Hello, The cause of your miscarriages can be known only through an evaluation of the products of conception, done at the time of the abortion. Though genetic defects are common in the first trimester abortions, hormonal deficiencies and structural defects along with infections also need to be considered. I would ask you to see a specialist in high risk pregnancies for further management. Meanwhile, please do not stress as anxiety is harmful to a pregnancy, take bed rest and avoid all strenuous activity. Please get a trans-vaginal sonogram to see the viability and the location of the sac. Hope this helps.
