Pregnant. On L-arginine, ARG, Astymin Drip. Safe, Clarify?
Hi, Good Day.
i am 35 week pregnant women and the amniotic fluid level from my scan report on 35th week was measured as 9.2, my doctor has suggested to take a L-Arginine/ ARG-9 and astymin-3 drip. but i am worried that when i googled it so many are suggested that better to avoid during pregnancy. Please clarify me.
Hi,
Oligohydramnios is diagnosed when the amniotic fluid is less than 500 ml. or the amniotic fluid index in the deepest pocket is less than 5, especially during the third trimester. The drip that has been advised has been shown to be beneficial in the treatment of oligohydramnios, but there are no long term studies so far to determine the long term impact on the mother and the baby. You may discuss with your doctor for further management. Take adequate fluids and rest. Good luck.
