Am a pregnant woman and some days back when I went to d toilet to pee, noticed a sharp pain and den a hard bulge around my clitoris..the bulge ws painful the first day but the pain has reduced although d hard bulge is still there...pls what is this and what am I to do...is this normal...and by the way had urinalysis done after I noticed it and the result was all normal...pls help
the swelling in clitoris is due to edema or collection of fluid.edema is common in pregnant women because during pregnancy women retain more water. That water can collect in the extremities and cause uncomfortable swelling.this is called edema in dependent parts(most affected by gravity parts)
The affliction tends to begin around the fifth month of pregnancy and can increase due to various external and internal factors.
Some tips- 1.reduce salt intake 2.drink lots of water 3.foot end elevation and avoid standing for more than 20-30 mins 4.exercise in moderation such as yoga 5.keep your BP under check all times. 6.wear accomodative clothing.
thank you, wishing you good health
