Pregnant. Report Says Uterine Arteries Reveal High Resistance Flow With Protodiastolic Notching. Problem?
My wife is 12Wks preg. and after the first level ultrasound, the report says the following:
Placentra is posteror grade 0 reaching internal os margin
and
Uterine arteries reveal high resistance flow with b/l protodiastolic notching.
I need to know if everything is fine or not. Also, we are suppose to fly out on coming weekend. So was worried if she can fly or not?

Hi,
Thank you for choosing healthcaremagic. Your wife's scan is showing a LOW LYING PLACENTA, but usually it will be not persisting as the pregnancy grows the placenta migrates further upwards. And about Uterine arteries reveal high resistance flow is a marker for future development of high BP in pregnancy. But it is not confirmatory, as it is just a screening test. kindly get regular Antenatal care of your wife. Continue calcium supplementation also.
