Pregnant. Severely Itchy Skin, Large Number Of Stretch Marks. No Relief With Cocoa Butter And Other Lotions. Suggest
Hello there! I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I've been dealing with itchy skin! Its driving me crazy, I can't take it anymore. I'll stay up at night because I'm itchy and my hubby gets irritated. I have very fair skin. Lotion isn't helping neither is my coco oil. WHAT TO DOOOOO? Also I have a large number of stretch marks and my coco butter isn't helping..what can I do about that?
Hi thanks for writing to health care magic.Itching not always but many times associated with pregnancy. It is known as pregnancy pruritus. They can be either due to some dermatological disorders like scabies, eczema etc. or some specific disorders related to pregnancy.Exact diagnosis can be made by knowing pattern of itch, type of lesions etc and it will be better you consult a dermatologist. You can apply mild steroidal lotion like desowen and take anti histaminics which are safe in pregnancy. Many times itching persists till delivery and you have to continue the treatment. For stretch marks you can try elastoderm cream.I hope this can solve your query.Take care.
