Pregnant. Ultrasound Shows Fetal Right Kidney With Moderate Hydronephrosis And Bladder Over Distended. Explain The Situation Along With Treatment?
hello.. gud noon dr. today i m come to the stage of 38 week pregnancy..a few days before my last ultrasound report showing that fetal right kidney showing moderate hydronephrosis & bladder is over distended. i want to know how much it harmful for my baby..? is there very crucial to overcome come from this problem..? please explain this situation along with treatment. i will be very thankful to you.
Hydonephrosis of kidney could be due to many causes. The commonest being pelvi-Ureteric Junction obstruction. In majority of the cases the Hydonephrosis subsides after birth of baby. I would suggest you to relax and be prepared for delivery. Also ultrasound of baby is to be done on 3rd day after birth to reassess the progress. Also ask the radiologist to look for 1. Pelvis AP diameter 2. Corticomedullary differentiation 3. Presence of hydroureter 4. Bladder wall thickness and key hole sign
I suggest you to send the report to a specialist Pediatric Surgeon present in ellite panel member in Healthcare-Magic.
Take care
