Pregnant, Diagnosed With Club Foot. What Treatment Can Be Taken For Child Post Delivery?
Dear doctor, i am Saravanan, My doctor diagnosed club foot problem in pregnancy itself (my wife’s), 1 foot is not in proper position. It is 10th month and delivery date given by doctor is 17th September, however I want to know the treatment for this club foot problem. So that after birth immediately I can start the treatment to cure this. Hence please suggest or help.
Hello
The initial treatment of clubfoot, regardless of severity, is nonsurgical. Manipulation and casting are the most commonly used methods. The majority of clubfeet can be corrected in infancy in about six to eight weeks with the proper gentle manipulations and plaster casts.
Fewer than 5 percent of infants born with clubfeet may have very severe deformities that are unyielding to stretching. These infants will require surgical correction.
You must consult an orthopedician immediately after delivery so that proper treatment at proper time be outlined.
Thanks
