Females more commonly experience urinary tract infections compared to males. In pregnancy repeated urinary tract infections can potentially affect the baby.
The reduce the chances of frequent infections she needs : drink alot of fluids, cranberry juice has been found to be helpful in reducing frequency of this infection in some persons
In addition she would need to empty her bladder before and after intercourse because this reduces the chance of infection of any urine present.
She must remember to empty her bladder frequently and not to hold any urine for long periods of time.
I hope this helps
