1)Restrict foods that are high in sodium and increase intake of foods that help lower blood pressure.
2)Potassium and calcium are important for maintaining blood pressure. Potassium is found in bananas, beans, tofu and potatoes.
3)Avoid boiling vegetables as it will reduce the amount of potassium; steam, bake or roast them instead.
4)Most canned and processed foods are high in sodium; eating more fresh and frozen foods will help reduce sodium intake.
5)Look for sodium in its various forms on ingredients lists, including
sodium chloride, sodium citrate and
sodium bicarbonate.
6)can follow this pattern in your routine diet:Grains: 7 to 8 servings. Vegetables: 4 to 5 servings. Fruits: 4 to 5 servings. Lowfat or fat-free dairy: 2 to 3 servings. Meat, poultry and fish: 2 or less servings. Nuts, seeds and dry beans: 4 to 5 servings per week. Fats and oils: 2 to 3 servings. Sweets: 5 per week.
7)Mix one teaspoon of brand new lime juice in one glass of warm water and drink this liquid everyday. This is an effectual home remedy in plummeting swelling of feet during
pregnancy.
8)Add a few tablespoons of coriander in two cups of water. Boil this mixture till it reduces to half its quantity, i.e. to one cup. Drink this coriander decoction thrice in a day. It will prevent from swelling of feet during pregnancy. In order to improve the taste, you can add sugar and milk to it, so that it becomes like a herbal tea.
The most important thing to prevent feet from swelling up during pregnancy is to keep them exercised often. Pregnant women tend to reduce their normal activities in the fear that it would harm the fetus. But in fact, the opposite is true. Walking for half an hour per day is ideal. Keep your feet moving about. This is a very sure way of preventing the accumulation of fluids in the feet.
