Hello, It is common for abdominal pain to occur in the last trimester as the flanks get full and the baby descends and as the Braxton-Hicks contractions increase in frequency towards labor. Yet, if the pain is severe and is associated with other features like excessive vomiting with fever, or urinary or other problems, a visit to the doctor is a must to exclude infections, the most serious of which are hepatitis and pancreatitis.
