I am 23 weeks pregnant with my fourth child. The others are 7, 5, and 3. I just had a sharp, sudden tearing sensation in stomach. It was near upper right of my belly button. I have had the sharp ligament pain with the others and this one so I know this didn't feel the same. I had a subchorionic hematoma in the beginning. At my last scan at 20 weeks the tech didn't think she saw it but said I had an anterior placenta which I have never had. Should I be concerned about the pain? It kind of worries me but so far no continued pain or bleeding.
hello Thanks for your query. if you had an abruption of the placenta ( the most possible and fearsome option given your history of subchorionic hematoma alongwith the pain ) , then you would have felt sustained hardening of the uterus ( very painful ). The uterus would have felt stony hard to touch, and of course, bleeding would have occurred. hence, this could be muscular - ligament pain, however, as you have had 3 children, you are the best judge of whether this is something you have undergone earlier or not. If in doubt, its always better to have an assessment by your doctor to be on the safer side. take care.
