The management of herpes simplex infection primarily consists of antiviral therapy. Acyclovir is the drug for choice. It is safe during pregnancy and has no adverse effect on the baby when used in first trimester.
Valacyclovir is another drug of this generation which can be used in its place.
For pain, pain killers can help.
Cervical smear should be taken regulary till term.
Consult your gynaecologist for treatment and cervical testing.
Thanks and take care
