Pregnant, Taking Heparine Injection. Platelet Count Is Reducing, Taking Iron Supplement And Ferrium Injection. Suggest?

sir my wife is pregnent of about 8 months and taking heparine inj daily , but the hb lable is fall down to 8 and the platelate count is also reducing . doctors are advised to continue heparine upto 36 weeks of pregnency. as the hb lable is reducing though she is taking iron suppliment and inj ferrium 1 gm is impossed one week ego. what to do for increse the hb lable.

Hi. Fall in Hb level is not an adverse effect of heparin, unless there is bleeding due to some reason like an ulcer. So we cannot attribute it to heparin, unless we find a cause for a drop in hemoglobin. Moreover, a drop in two cell lines, anemia(Hb) and thrombocytopenia(Platelet) would suggest a cause like megaloblastic anemia(B12 or folate deficiency) or HELP syndrome (Hemolysis, Elevated liver enzymes, low platelets). These are more relevant considerations than heparin. The basic cause should be treated to help improve the Hb. Hope I have answered your query. Thank you.
