Pregnant, Took MMR Vaccine, Ig M Anti Rubella Positive, Ig G Antii Rubella Negative. Is It Possible To Get Rubella Infection?
Hello doctor, Im Linda and now in 12 weeks pregnancy. Last year i got MMR vaccine but never re-check my Ig G Anti Rubella. This week i checked my blood but there was Ig M anti Rubella positive but Ig G antii Rubella negative. I wonder there was a mistake from the laboratory so i will re-checked in other laboratory.
In this case. is it possible for me to get Rubella infection? I have no other symptoms so far. But i really worry about my baby and i won't come back to my doctor before i get the latest blood report.
Do you have any suggestion for me?The last visit to my doctor was when my pregnancy age was 11 weeks and ultrasound tht the baby was okay, i also can hear the heart beat.
In case i really get infected, what should i do? How many percentage can it harm my baby?? Thank you.
Hi, Thanks for the query. Ig M positive with Ig G negative usually indicates primary infection. But as you have taken the vaccine last year it is possible that there may be some error in the lab report. So you wait for your next report and if needed go for Ig G avidity testing. After getting the report we can come to one conclusion. As the baby is good at present, no need to worry.
