Brief Answer:
It is mandatory to take second dose of MMR vaccine

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Welcome to HCM

MMR vaccine protects against three diseases that are measles, mumps and Rubella.
As per XXXXXXX Academy of Pediatrics vaccination schedule two dosage(three dosage if first one taken before 12 months of age) of MMR vaccine is mandatory. First at age of 15-18 months and then between 4-6 years of age.
WHO has launched a mass vaccination strategy of vaccination for Measles and Rubella in children age grouped between 9 months to 15 years to protect against the disease.
As per this strategy every child should be vaccinated for MR irrespective of previous vaccination status unless the child has received the same or MMR vaccine within 4 weeks.
This is a safe vaccine so this is included in mass campaign.
My opinion for you is to get him vaccinated for second dose of MMR(measles, mumps and Rubella) vaccine which is mandatory as he has already crossed 4 years of age and this vaccine is due for him. Second dose is mandatory as it is seen that there is a failure rare of about 15 percent in children who have received only one dose.
If you get him vaccinated for this MMR then there is no need to get vaccinated for MR.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards
