Pregnant With Cold And Chesty Cough. Sore Throat, Swollen Glands. Painful To Swallow. Need Help
Hi I am 11 weeks pregnant and for the last 3 weeks I have had a cold and chesty cough you know the one with the green stuff. I have also been having a very sore throat and swollen glads. only last night it had me up as it was sooo painful to swollow and still is now. Please help I need adivce as my doctor just keeps giving me a spray for my nose that doesnt seem to be working.

You have developed upper respiratory tract infection,mainly pharyngitis (infection of throat).Swollen glands are lymph node which have enlarged due to pharyngitis.You need a course of antibiotics and decongestant.Consult an ENT specialist who may examine you and may prescribe you antibiotics and decongestant.There are antibiotics which can be safely prescribed during pregnancy.
