Pregnant With Ectopic Condition. Have Right Flank Severe Pain, Reduced Pain With Emptying Bladder And Walking. Any Problem?

Hi,
I was having right flank severe pain last night q 2 hrs. No vomiting. Pain 8/10. Pain relieved by emptying bladder and walking within 5 min. I am also 6 weeks pregnant, no US done yet to r/o ectopic. ( G3P0)
Should I be thinking more about an ectopic pregnancy or renal colic?
Thanks,
IL
Ps; today I am drinking alot of water and voiding freqently. Pain 1/10

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
A right sided ectopic will usually cause pain in right iliac fossa. Pain is continuous.
Right sided renal or ureteric colic may cause pain in right flank. Pain is either dull aching or continuous.
To confirm or exclude a cause, you are recommended to undergo, trans-vaginal ultrasound, serum beta hCG & urine detailed report.
Please visit an ER if pain recurs or persists.
Take care.
