Pregnant With Rashes On Belly, Have High SGOT, High Alkaline Phosphates. Side Effects?
Doctor, i am 33 weeks pregnant now and got rashes on my belly badly itching Consulted my gynac and she suggested for few tests Results - Normal SGOT but slightly high Alkaline Phosphatase Now my gynac suggested to use Udiliv 300mg thrice a day My query - Any side effects due to this to either me or baby? Do i have any liver issues now?
Hello, Thanks for your query. Udiliv is Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) improves clinical symptoms and liver parameters in a number of cholestatic liver disorders.Ursodeoxycholic acid is effective and safe in patients with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy of early onset, attenuating pruritus and correcting some biochemical abnormalities in the mothers. Relevant aspects of fetal outcome were also improved in patients receiving ursodeoxycholic acid compared to placebo. Hence to conclude udiliv is safe and wont affect the fetus. You might not be having any liver pathology as the cause for CHOLESTASIS of pregnancy is not known I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. In case of any doubt, I will be available for follow ups. Wish you good health. Regards, Dr Arif
