Pregnant With Yellowish Discharge, Sudden Lower Back Pain. History Of Endometriosis. Need To Go To The Doctor?
Hello. My girlfriend had endometriosis removed about 3 months ago and is now about 4 weeks pregnant. These past few days, she has had a primarily clear discharge and rarely a yellowish discharge. Earlier this morning, she felt like needed to have a bowel movement on a few occasions. Tonight, she has been complaining of an upset stomach and a sudden lower back pain (sharp stabbing ) that came and went. Are these normal or should she schedule an appointment?
Hi Johnny,
Thanks for consulting us.
Any sharp pain in a pregnant lady during early weeks need emergency review by a doctor as this may be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy which is a life threatening situation if timely management is not performed.
Normal vaginal secretions increase during pregnancy but if they are foul smelling &/ or associated with itching or contain blood this need evaluation.
So, please take her to the Doctor's as soon as possible to rule out an ectopic pregnancy & all other causes of an acute abdomen.
Regards.
