Prescribe Medication For Flaky Patch Of Dry Skin On Shoulder

Hello. I have dry ski patch... between the size of a dime and quarter on my left shoulder right below my neck line. When I scratch, dead skin patch just flakes off very easily. What can I put on it to go away? In the past, I had a similar patch on the right side of my back along wasteline. This went away in about a year. Thanks

Dermatologist 's  Response
hello

thanks for your query.

you seem to be having either eczema or a psoriatic patch.

you need to apply a moisturizing cream over it. application of hydrocortisone cream will help in resolving it , however, it might require a stronger strength steroid cream like mometasone if hydrocortisone is not effective.

i would recommend you show it to your dermatologist if the above measures are not effective.

take care
