Prescribed Carcimide For Constipation Problem In Child. Gripping Pain, Air Bubbling In Tummy. Cure?

Hi my baby was constipated since he is 2 months.. Yesterday I went to his doctor and she gave him Carcimide 2.5 ml bd. Last night He felt gripping pain and did not sleep well. body temperature is high and tummy is hot and soft. I feel air bubbling in his tummy. He feed well and pee well. What should I do? he is not feeling well yet.

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Unfortunately you have not mentioned the age of your son and what milk preparation he is receiving. Top fed babies tend to be constipated. Constipation is basically a nutritional issue and there is no need of giving medication to control it.

You mentioned that your son is warm to touch and "feel air bubbling" in his abdomen. I suggest that you measure his temperature by a thermometer and if he is having fever than you should consult your doctor who shall examine your son and guide you further. It is very common to feel the gurgling sound in an infant's abdomen as the abdominal wall is relatively thin.
