Suggest Treatment For Shivering With Normal Body Temperature
My 5 year old son is shivering right now. he did have a fever on monday and slight one last night. i gave him motrin at bed time and he was crying little so iwent and checkedon him and his whole body is shivering, he has a normal body temp now, 98.8 he does not feel cold except little on hands and feet. but i never seen him shiver like this. should i take him to a walk in? he did mention earlier today his ear hurt a little bit
Children do shiver during fever. Shivering is a mechanism of the body to increase your temperature so that you can fight off infection. There are times, when children show more shivering. that should not be a matter of concern if it settles down on its own once the fever is down.
As far as the ear ache is concerned and since its associated with fever, it would be a good idea to just do a walk in and get the ear inspected from inside and just in case if the antibiotic needs to be added than the doctor can do the same.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
