Prescribed Metropolol And Diovan For Hypertension. Recommendations?

hi i am 48 years old i went to colombia and did not support the altitude over there there prescribe me fist metropolol then diovan both were not bringing the tension down, i believe my tension is a bit high but should i medicate myself or wait a few more years ? my tension went very high one but due to prehypertension maybe and altitude.
what can you recommend ? soft medecine or just maybe sports and eating well?

High blood pressure treatment depends on you recordings as you have been prescribed medicines it must be more than 140/90 mm of hg.
Treatment involves lifestyle modifications like reducing weight, avoid smoking and alcohol.
Reducing salt intake to You should take up regular walking exercise at least 30 to 45 minutes daily. If BP reading are still high drug therapy must be taken regularly with periodic check up, There are many drugs like Beta blocker(Metoprolol) and ARB ( Valsartan) these are good drugs and may be titrated depending on the response to treatment, they can be used in combination also.
It is better to take treatment if recording are high and simultaneously continue life style modifications.
