Generally, any soft tissue injury needs some time for it to heal and recuperate. This recovery time may range from 10-14 days. So, you cannot expect an immediate total relief even with medications like analgesic and antiinflammatories.
I personally don't advice you to undergo massage of the already inflammed and injured area, as there is every chance for worsening of your condition. Any injured or inflammed tissue in the body needs REST for it to settle down. Gentle application of over the counter pain creams are helpful in alleviating the pain.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
