Prescribed Augmentin For Tonsillitis. One Tonsil Better, Other Getting Infected. Cure?

I was diagnoses with tonsillitis on Thursday, prescribed augmentin , and have been taking it since, my mom said my one tonsil looks slightly better but now my other tonsil seems to be getting the infection. I called the doctor and they just gave me attitude and told me not to call back after the medicine is gone this Thursday.

thanks for your query.
You could be suffering from acute peritonsillitis on affected side.

Continue augmentin, along with it you need to take anti inflammatory drug like tab Chymoral plus, anti histaminics like levocetrizine, antiseptic gargles.

Avoid cold and junk foods, smoking, alcohol.

Hi,
Nothing to worry, this antibiotic will work for other tonsil as well.
Wait for 2-3 days more as antibiotic take some time to work.
Do antiseptic gargles.
Avoid cold drinks and junk food.
Ok and take care.
