Prescribed Cremaffin Plus For Acute Anal Fissure. On Overdose Of Same Medication By Mistake. Any Serious Problem?
I am suffering from acute anal fissure and was prescribed Cremaffin plus , 4 teaspoons daily . But I misread the prescription of my surgeon and have been taking 4 tablespoons of Cremaffin plus. Was it harmful ? I have been taking it for the past one week. I don't have any pain during bowel movements now , I think the fissure is healing but I am scared that I have been taking too much laxative. My stools are soft and I do not have to apply any pressure at all. I have to go to the toilet once in the morning...some days twice. Please advice if the extra dose has harmed me. Also can I switch to Isabgul now? I am afraid that if I stop taking Cremaffin ,the fissures will return.
Hi, dont worry, if there is any harm it would have happened by now, as an extra loose motions. As it is nor absorbed there will be no systemic side effects. For a fissure isobgul is not prefered, as though it is soft it is bulky. So no problem of continuing cremaffin, 4tsf, or more. thank you.
