I believe I have prickly heat on my right leg near my scrotum. I had this 14 years ago when I lived in NYC and it took many painful months before it went away. I live in a much more arid climate know so I'm surprised its come back. Don't recall how I treated it 14 years ago but in much of anything I tried worked. Any suggestions?
Hello, The symptoms as mentioned in your post suggest that you might be having fungal infection in the scrotal area.
Management includes: 1. Keeping the area dry & avoid too much exposure to water or sweat formation. 2. Antihistamine preparations like cetirizine to provide symptomatic relief. 3. Application of topical antifungal cream to tackle the causative organism. 4. Topical antibiotics can also be applied to prevent secondary bacterial infections.
If symptoms still persist or aggravate further, then it will be better to consult a Dermatologist & get a proper examination done to find out the actual cause. So that appropriate management steps could be taken.
Also avoid wearing tight underwear & trousers...as it will cause sweating & predispose to infections. Wishing you a Good Health. Thanks & take care.
