Projection In Throat With Offensive Smell. What Can Cause This Condition?
hello i can see my epiglottis and i have never seen it before during inspection. i also find something coming out of my throat(probably left pyriform fossa) sometimes which has a offensive smell. otherwise i have no symptoms. what can cause this condition? by the way, i am a final year medical student under wbuhs and i m only 22..
Hi I have gone through your mail since you are a final year medical student so i hope you are familiar with anatomy of laryngeal inlet. I suspect you are aving epiglottitis which is septic in nature thus producing fowl smelling discharge, your second quary is that you feel as your left pyriform fossa is comming up in inspiration which is unexplanable as if pyriform foosa is involved than you should have some dysphagia which is not in your case,so my opinian is that you are having some polypoidal growth from epiglottis.I suggest you to please go for complete examination of your throat and possibly direct laryngoscopy also to ruleout the real pathology. Thanks
