Prostate Ultrasound Shows Median Lobe Elongated And Enlarged With A Volume Of At Least 30cc, Glossly Homogeneous Peripheral Zones In Echotexture. Explain
I'm 57 years old. The results of my prostate ultrasound states the prostate measured 5.7 cm LS x 4.9 cm TS x 5.1 cm AP with a volume of 73 cc.
The median lobe is elongated and enlarged, with a volume of at least 30cc.
The peripheral zones appeared glossly homogeneneous in echotexture, with no evidence of hypoechoic foci.
Normal semimal vesicles.
What does all this mean?

Hi,
Based on the information you had ultrasound and your prostate measured 5.7 cm LS x 4.9 cm TS x 5.1 cm AP with a volume of 73 cc. as well are median lobe is elongated and enlarged, with a volume of at least 30cc.
Means you are having enlarge prostate and you will need some treatment for it so that it make your urinary problem go away.
Normally Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP) is done to make it come back to normal. But your prostate lobe is bit larger then normal so may need some other intervention.
Hi!
Prostate is a small gland present at the base of urinary bladder encircling the bladder neck and urethra..
Your USG findings suggest that your prostate is enlarged .enlargement is in median lobe of prostate which must be giving you problems in urination like frequency, urgency, difficulty and a feeling of incomplete evacuation.
Findings are suggesting benign prostate enlargement which is a very common condition seen in men after 50.You can consult a urologist for the same.
Hope this information will help you!
