Pulled Baby Tooth Out. Flesh Remaining. What To Do With The Hanging Flesh?

I just pulled out my a baby tooth out, I am almost 17. But the adult tooth never seemed to try and grow until now. The baby tooth started to decay recently and split. It didnt hurt, but i have decided to pull it out. I just pulled it out, and it looks like the shell of the tooth came out, but there is a piece of flesh hanging from where the baby tooth was. the adult tooth is pushed through about 1/5 of the way, and the baby tooth was like stuck underneath it. it took me an hour to pull it out. what do i do with the flesh that is hanging? It doesnt hurt. The flesh is shaped like a baby tooth and is hanging attached to the gums. What do i do?

hello and welcome to hcm forum,
i wouls be glad to inform you that it is nothing to worry about,
the gums hold our tooth like a collar, when a tooth is removed, the gum tissue sorrounding it becomes free, therefore it falls lose.
as a normal healing process, it will shrink and reshape itself around the erupting permanent tooth.
this may take 10-15 days to completely heal.
until then, perform warm saline rinses(3-4 times/day) for a week, it will encourage healing.
or use an antibacterial mouth wash(twice/day).

i hope i answered your query,
i wish you good health,
take care.

Hello there...I dont recommend self treatment.....there are various reasons for the unerupted permanent tooth...or if the permanent tooth would have erupted it would have been placed bucally or palatally.... a radiograph is required to see if there is any permanent tooth bud....if you have one it can be brought into occlusion by means of orthodontic assistance...the flesh of tissue you call is the tissue present around the tooth....get yourself examined by your dental surgeon...never attempt to pull out any tooth on your own as it would lead to dreadful complications....

hiii
its nothing to worry about..its just gingiva (gums) that was surrounding your tooth....after extraction it does become little loose....as a part of normal healing process it would regain its normal position & shape.

its strictly advised that you should not try to do any of these actions again in the future.

Hello
Welcome to HCM
I would like to tell you that its not a big deal.
Its just a part of gingiva that was holding your teeth & since tooth has been pulled out so it will need time to heal.
Later on it will merge with erupting tooth.
You just do warm saline rinses twice a day that's enough for healing.

Take Care
Regards
Dr.Neha
