Pus Cells In Stool, Bacterial Infection. Prescribed Taxim-o. Side Effects Of Antibiotics?
my daughter is suffering from bacterial infection, presumably, though we take good care of hygiene. it's showing 18~20 pus cells in her stool. it's going on since last 2 weeks now and we have already given her taxim~o few days ago for 5 days. now again our doc has asked us to continue same dosage for another 5 days. he has warned that extended use of antibiotics is harmful for kids. Please share your thoughts.
hi there, howmuch ever hygiene we may practice childern tend to put toys, dirty hands or any other way and are liable to get infection. Don't berate yourself for that. If she is having infection then it is better to follow your doctor's advise and continue the antibiotics if required and incomplete dosage of the antibiotic can lead to resistance development. To counter some of the side effects of the antibiotics you may start her on probiotics and vit B12 syrup.Do discuss with your doctors about the possible side effects and the reason behind extended use of antibiotics. Proper information will decrease your anxiety and concern. Take care.
