Quintuple Bypass Surgery, Diabetic, Non Smoker, Non Drinker. Life Expectancy?
What is life expectancy for a male after a quintuple bypass surgery performed at age 71 in the year 2010? There was not a heart attack involved. Leg vein was used for four of the grafts. Since then over 60lbs of weight has been lost and A1C is 5.3 with diabetis only requiring a single Metformin , 500mg. Non smoker and non drinker! Thank you in advance, email is given
In a given individual, it is difficult to assess life expectancy - it depends upon ejection fraction of heart / valves’ integrity and function / wall of the chambers / arrhythmia, their nature and frequency / renal function / other co-morbidities like Diabetes, Dyslipidemia / response to medicines ... Generally, it should be good... The treating doctor alone can suggest based on his assessment of the situation.
Take care Wishing speedy recovery God bless Good luck
