Radiating Pain In The Arm, Weakness, Right Shoulder Difficult To Lift, Move. No Help With Anti-inflammatory Tablets. Cause?

Hi, for the last 3 months I have been suffering episodes of radiating dull aches down my right arm . I also experience weakness during these periods, especially in the hand . The pain was worsened by writing, typing and texting. Recently (within the last few days) my right shoulder has been becoming progressively more difficult to lift, and move in certain positions. It feels like its Catching on something in the joint . When this happens I get the same radiating arm pain, and weakness in hand. I have been taken anti-inflammatery tablets and they don t seem to be helping. I wonder if you could tell me what you think this is?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the shoulder, numbness and difficulty in lifting the arm is likely to be related to a nerve problem. An MRI of the shoulder will help in proper diagnosis and specific treatment according to the area of affection.
