Rash And Red Bumps On Torso, Itching In Nature. Took Steroid, Antibiotics, Anti Itch Medicines. What Is The Cure?
My son (19yrs old) has developed a rash of small (pinhead-sized) red bumps on his torso that is now spreading to his legs and arms. The rash itches. He has seen a GP, who prescribed steroid, antibiotic (oral), and anti-itch meds. But the rash persist and continues to spread (for about a week now). My wife thinks bed bugs, I'm thinking allergic reaction. Any thoughts?
Hi, After reading your history I can make out that your son is suffering form Fungal infection of the area.
Do not apply any steroid cream or mixed cream as it causes further aggravation of the problem. I suggest you to apply plane anti-fungal cream such as clotrimazole or ketoconazole. Give fluconazole 150 mg alternate days or tablet terbinafine 250 mg daily for 15 days.
Keep the area dry and let him wear cotton clothes. Change the undergarments two time a day.
