My gums have started bleeding profusely over the last week or so, with no apparent cause. This can happen numerous times throughout the day and at night as I have woken with blood on my billow. This is totally out of character for me, I have never suffered any problems before. I have been on beta blockers for around 8 months and over the last two weeks have felt generally unwell and depressed. I have become very concerned about the heavy and random nature of the bleeding in my mouth.
Hi. Welcome to Healthcaremagic. I read your query. Gum bleeding indicates periodontal disease. But the amount of bleeding you mentioned can be a manifestation of some underlying disease too. I suggest you visit a dentist and get it checked. Get oral check up, blood test for anaemia, Von willebrand factor, clotting factors. Maintain good oral hygiene, proper diet. Use non alcoholic mouthwash. Get oral prophylaxis done regularly. You didnot mention about history of pregnancy. It can also lead to gum problems. Main treatment is to find underlying cause and treat it. Hope the answer helps. Thank you!
