Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. You had episode of visual blurring, black out and light headedness. Now you are having
severe headache. These symptoms could be caused by various diseases like
transient ischemic attack, episode of vertigo, Migraine, some mass lesion in brain, spontaneous brain haemorrhage etc. I have provided you a battery of differential diagnosis. Now I ll give you some tips to relate your findings with probable diagnosis
: Age. Usually old age patients like >50years have more chances of transient ischemic attacks, spontaneous brain haemorrhage. Young age like 15-25 years patients have more chances of Migraine, vertigo.
: If you are already a patient of
heart disease or
diabetes mellitus, more chances of stroke or haemorrhage.
: If you have frequent episodes of headache along with flashes of light,
photophobia and occurring at a particular time in a year, it could be Migraine.
: If your headache is associated with vomiting, persistent visual blurring, it could be some mass lesion.
: Even
hypertension can give rise to above symptoms if BP suddenly shoots. The headache is mostly in occipital region.
It could be sue to some other reason but I have provided you most common reason. Now you can relate your features. For treatment, you should
consult neurologist, who will examine your nervous system and may prescribe you CT or MRI of brain to find out the cause.
Meanwhile at home, you can take some pain killer like Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription, avoid bright light, avoid stress and straining, try to keep your head at higher level if you are having headache or keep at lower level if light headedness compared to chest.
Thanks. Hope it will help you. Take care.
