Hi, Please get a trans-vaginal sonogram and an estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres in addition to a clinical evaluation by an expert. In view of your family history, this becomes essential. If pregnancy is excluded, the possibility of perimenopause should be considered and further management planned accordingly. Then, you may go for hormone profile, a pap smear and if there is any endometrial hyperplasia, go for an endometrial biopsy. Hormone supplementation, exercise, healthy diet and regular follow up help you through it. Take care.
