Reason For Having Loose Stools With Mucus When All Test Results Are Normal?
hi.. i am having loose stools since from 5 months.. that to once in a week. endoscpopy colonoscopy and blood tests like b12 , lever function test, thyroid stool routine everything is done . but everything is normal. but whenever motion happens i feel tired. and some times it will be mucus
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history and understood your concerns. Loose motion once a week, followed by tiredness and with mucus sometimes indicates that the problem may be related to the problem of colitis. I would advise you the following: Send the sample of stool for tests. If there is an infection as indicated you need a course of an antibiotic, metronidazole and probiotics. If there is no response in 5 days further tests of colonoscopy, biopsy and CT scan of the abdomen may be needed to get an appropriate diagnosis and management,
