Reason For Persistent Itchy Rash Despite Switching To Neurontin?
my husband started on tegretol for TN. all was fine but about 3 weeks in he developed a rash. pretty much body wide, and was itchy. his doctor switched him to neurontin about 3 weeks ago but he continues to have the rash. he also is on lisinipril which he started about 2 months ago. why wont the rash go away?
The cause of rash may be different. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. probably it may be some allergy. I would recommend him to apply mild steroid cream on the rash. Give him a course of steroid in tapering course. If there is itching, give him antihistaminic like levocetirizine. The rash cwused by drug would be proved by trial and error method.
Hope this helps.
