Recently Had EXTENSIVE LEFT SHOULDER SURGERY And Have Been Prescribed

Recently had EXTENSIVE LEFT SHOULDER SURGERY and have been prescribed "Oxycodone Immediate Release Tabs 10mgs / 2 tabs every 4-6 hours. Relieves the pain, however; it seems to "wear off 2-3 hours later!" I am a medically retired Law Enforcement Officer and lost ALL five digits on my right hand resulting from a suspect shooting my finger's off with a SHOTGUN ROUND. Anyways, I have been taking Percocet "on and off for quite some time. Is their a stronger milligrams dosage of Oxycodone IR that I can take? Any medication recommendation's for my present condition you may have?
