Recurred Symptoms After Sigmoid Colectomy And Removal Of 12 Inches Of Colon. On Metronidazole. Common?

I AM 76 YEARS OLD. IN 1995 I HAD A SIGMOID COLECTOMY AND 12+ INCHES OF THE COLON WAS REMOVED.
I HAVE NOT HAD A RECURENCE OF THE SYMPTONS UNTIL THIS PAST WEEK.

i HAVE SEED A DOCTOR AND CURRENTLY TAKING METRONIDAZOLE FOR 7 DAYS
i HAVE JUST HAD NUMEROUS STOOL SAMPLES AND THEY HAVE BEEN SENT TO THE LAB.

DOES RECURRENCE HAPPEN VERY OFTEN?

Hi, recurrence may not be frequent, if you maintain the diet, more over it is already 18 years passed so they did the tests to exclude the recurrance , dont worry about the recurrence.
Avoid taking spices, junk foods, and oily foods, minimise taking milk and milk products, wheat, and barley, though not recommended. Thank you.
