Recurring Episodes Of Spider Bite Causing Pus Pocket Followed By Hole That Weeps And Scabs, Happens In Sleep, Have Not Seen Spider. Advise?

2 weeks ago I had what I thought was a spider bite on my elbow . It was swollen, hard, hot, red, and had a puss pocket in the center. It grew to a dime sized hole in my arm that would weep and scab over. Within a week it went away. Last week, I had another spider bite less than a quarter of an inch from it show up. it has acted the same way. Then this morning, another quarter of an inch away, another one has appeared. They are acting excatly the same way. Either this is very coincidental or it s not a spider bite and it s something that is spreading. I have never seen a spider and it happens in my sleep. What do you advise?

Hello, It is indeed a thing to worry. You can apply ice packs in the areas affected with bite. You will get relief. It is nice to know that the bite is not making you sick with fever, itching or pain. Many a times, skin infections are often confused with spider bites. You do not have any past history of skin infections. Spiders love damp, dingy places. Just look if there is any corner around you where they may be found. Do not snuggle into your bed. Inspect your bed and the linen properly before you go off to sleep. You can wear long gown or apply locally some insect repelling ointment to keep safe. To rule out any skin infection ( it could be any other bug which is causing you such discomfort), wash your bedding and treat them with a good antiseptic like dettol or savlon. You can use a medicated soap or lotion for bathing. Spider bites can be venomous, if you still have problems take appointment to visit a doctor.
