Red Blemishes Below Lower Lip, Dry, Rough, Keratosis Pilaris

hi my son is 2 yrs old and he had two little blemishes under his bottom lip, however they were slightly red they began to become a red rash and join together. Now it is a dry inflamed red patch where the blemishes were and its a bit rough as well. He has keratosis pilaris on his cheeks but its never formed a rash like this. So Im a bit concerned that it may be something else.

Hello
thanks for using Health Care magic .

I would be pleased to answer your question
It looks like an allergic contact dermatitis , irritant contact dermatitis , lip licking dermatitis , atopic dermatitis .

There is nothing to get worried about . i would suggest you to apply intensive moisturizer in that area for example from Neutrogena .

You could also consider application of a mild steroid cream like cortisone 1% ( available over the counter as cortaid) cream on the area affected .

Showing the Dermatologist would be next best practice .

Thanks and take care .
