Red Itchy Dots Close To The Incision Of The Grafted Skin On The Hand.Should I Be Concerned?
A year and a bit ago I had a skin graft done on my hand (resulted from a dog bit). Just recently I have been noticing red dots (itchy) and small openings which aren't bleeding but look like they could. The red itchy dots are close to the incision. Should I be concerned or could this just be due to moisturizers or dry weather - cold up here in Canada.
Hi, I can understand your concern for the Red itchy dots close to the incision of the grafted skin on the hand.
It is too early to reach to conclusive point of exact diagnosis of the red dots. It can be due to simple dryness or due to some contact allergens also. The best part of your thing is to observe and wait.
Till that time do not pinch, pop or scratch the area. Keep the area dry and wear cotton clothes. Change the clothes two time a day. Do not get exposed to extremes of environment and protect yourself from heat and humidity.
I suggest you to apply bland moisturizing cream for 4-5 time sto keep it moisturized. Take antihistamine such as loratadine or cetrizine if itching is present. Do not apply any mixed cream or mixed ointments as it causes further aggravation of the problem.
Take care.
