Red Itchy Patches Below Legs For 8 Month Old, Suggested Cream, Cyphon, But Recurring. Solution ?
My 08 month girl baby is having red patches below her legs which is itchy. The same problem exist before two months, on consultation of a doctor, they give an cream lotion to apply on skin and suggested to cyphon drops. They advised the patches may be due to allergy or due to mosquito bite. After applying the cream the patches disappeared in two days. Now the same problem arises suggest me on this matter
Hi Red patches could be due to allergy, temperature changes , viral infection ,etc. Do prevent mosquito bites with preventive cream externally and using nets. Usually insect bite hypersensitivity lasts till 3 years and then decreases spontaneously. If the problem pesists do consult an allergy/skin specialist for food allergies also Regards DR arun

General & Family Physician, Dr. Lohit K's Response
Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Red patches below her legs may be due to allergy since it disappeared after using the lotion for allergy. For now you can put clean cotton sox, avoid any known allergen and can apply the same cream since the lesions are similar to previous one but consult your doctor for examination and management. Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries. Wish you good health. Take care.
