Red, Painful And Long Wounds Due To Digging Of Nails On Arms. Remedy For Quick Healing?
hello doctor, i had a fight wth my sister in turn she dug her nails in my skin(arms)....it is all red...and painful...first i put dettol to clean it....then applied coconut oil....these are long wounds coz if digging of nails in my skin...i m afraid it will not heel properly leaving horrible black marks...what should i now use or apply so that it heals properly and doesnt leave black marks on my arms? how long will it take to heal properly? how long will it take marks to disappear? because of this i m not even able to step out :(
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. You might have developed an abrasion during your sibling rivalry! Now to treat the same, just keep the area clean and apply topical antibiotic cream like mupirocin or fusidic acid cream. In few days the lesion would scab and heal. If in case marks remain, you may apply a Kojic acid or hydroquinone based cream to reduce the post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Hope that helped.
