Red Painful Gums, Little Blood Discharge, Pressure In Head With Cold Shivers. Reasons ?
red painful gums (only one side of mouth) top and bottom. Red spots on them and if I suck on them I get a little blood discharge . Pressure in head feeling. Small headaches that stem from back of my neck. Cold shivers but no fever. It feels like I m going to get a cold but I don t - no runny nose. At first I had a swollen gland directly under my jaw but it went away after two days. Not getting better after a week. I suffer of anxiety and just started a new job when symptoms kicked in. But the pressure in my head almost makes me feel dizzy.
hello
swollen gums may be because of chronic gingivitis which
is inflammatiom of gums that occur in case of improper
oral hygiene but it normally does not cause sweelling
of glands or headache.may your teeth are also affected.
i would advice you to consult a dentist and get clinical
diagnosis done because the information provided by you
is not enough.
i need to know about your oral habits like smoking or do u
expereince hot or cold sensitivity.
i can just advice you maintain your oral hygiene .brush
twice daily.rinse mouth

hello and welcome,
have you got your mouth checked with dentist?check whether your gums are affected by gingivitis?bleeding gums are usually associated with gingivitis.
get your teeth cleaned by your dentist.if tooth is decayed, get it filled.
if there is bone loss or pocket associated, root planning, curettage and tissue bone grafting should be done.
try to maintain good oral hygiene.
use soft-bristled interdental brush and tongue cleaner to clean your teeth.
check also whether there is inflammed flap,ie,pericoronitis associated with your impacted wisdom tooth.then operculectomy or extraction of tooth has to be done.
in such cases headache and fever occurs.
check also for sinusitis is associated.always take hot food and fluids.also gargle your mouth with warm saline rinse.
take care.
Hi, Tinkerco,
Thanks for query.
It seems that you are having Acute Gingivitis giving rise to this problem.
This may be due to deposition of tarter on the teeth.
Go for antibiotic medicine course and you will be alright.
Do warm water gargle or Listerine gargles.
Ok and bye.
Hello,
I think you have two different problems, one related to your gums and the other is headache. Red painful gums, red spots on them and blood discharge from them are signs of gingivitis. The swelling under your jaw could be enlarged lymph node which is a sign for infection in teeth or gums. The most common cause for gingivitis is deposition of calculus. I advice you to get your teeth clean by your dentist. Meanwhile you can use salt water gargles which will give mild releif.
For pressure in head and cold shivers, I would advice you to consult your physician. Steam inhalation and routine pain killers will give you temporary releif.
Thank you and take care,
Regards,
Dr. Mukesh Asrani
