Redness In Both Eyes With Itchiness, On Drops, Doctor Taken Swabs. Worrisome?
I have redness of both eyes with itchiness, also I have been on drops now for 2 weeks. My doctor took swabs of my eyes, and referred me to a professor in Durham - it was supposed to be an eye hospital in Sunderland, in the letter it says if suspected cancer the appoint will be within 2 weeks, but it not then roughly 8 weeks. Should I Be worried?
Hi Dear thanks for your question, you have redness in your both eyes with itching, and swab has been taken,Dear you have redness in your both eyes with itching, which suggests that there are more chances your having simple infection of your eyes called conjunctivitis,it could be viral or bacterial.Raised intra ocular tension can also cause redness and itching in one or both eyes depending upon ,on which side tension is raised a condition called as Glaucoma, one important thing you have not mentioned in your question is you age. Retrobulbar tumors can also cause redness in both eyes which are diagnosed by CT scan.Though chances of cancer are very low ,but cannot be ruled out, since swab has been taken it will cinch the diagnosis.
