Redness On Scar, Pus Discharge, Fever, Cold Sweats, Frequent Urination. Infection?
Got stitches on my leg a month ago( six total) I got them out two weeks ago. I had an allergic reaction to the Adhesive while I had the stitches. Now two weeks after Getting them out the scar is red and feels bruised also is pussing. I also have a fever and cold sweats. And have been peeing way more than normal. Is it possible it could be infected?
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
As you had stitches over wound for a long time and wound is red and having pus.Beside it you are having fever, all these symptoms refers to wound infection caused by bacteria. As you are also experiencing frequent urination, you need to rule out diabetes, and wound infection is common in diabetic patients.
Take proper care of wound.
It is recommended that dressings should be changed daily.
You can take topical or oral antibiotic after you visit a doctor and get test like RBS,FBS to rule out diabetes.
Hope it helps,
Take Care!
