Regular Drinker, Vomiting. Tested For High Sgot And Sgpt. Increase In Weight. Problem Severe?

I am not a regular drinker.but will take 3 to 4 with friends 2 days in a week.one day i had vomiting and when i tested sgot was 132 and sgpt was 241.i got fever also after fever and intaking of golbi 300.now it is 87 and 141 respectively after 25 days. now i am little fatty in which my weight go up to 81 from 76 suddenly.now i finished my medicines.do i have any severe problem?kindy advice

Hi,

It is possible that your liver problem was caused not by alcohol but maybe due to other reasons like infection, side effects of medications etc. Your current SGOT and SGPT levels are still significantly abnormal, though less than before. You have not mentioned the bilirubin levels which also might have been raised. Please get your blood checked for presence of hepatitis virus and discuss your results with your doctor. Do not worry. Your liver will gradually get back to normal. Till then, avoid fatty foods and alcohol.
